This Wine is also one hundred percent Merlot, but it’s plummier, with less herbaceousness. The perfume is deep, like black plum skin macerated with black cherries, and the body is ripe and saturated. Although the tannins feel modest, its acidity is clear-cut and focused, yielding a Wine with a good balance between fruit and refreshment.

Chateau Bonalgue
Pomerol 2004
Chateau Bonalgue
Notes of prune and fig on the nose, with plenty of baked earth, truffle, and smoky leaves. The palate is fresh and lifted still, and with a nice core of dark cherries, and silky tannins on the finish. This is perfect to enjoy now.

Domaine Albert Mann
Pinot Noir Les Saintes Claires 2017
Domaine Albert Mann
Bright ruby. Juicy red cherry and red berries, complicated by flint and sweet spices. Enters ripe and fruity, then steely in the middle, presenting bright strawberry and raspberry flavors that turn more austere on the long, refined finish. Remarkably elegant, fruity Wine that has sneaky concentration and depth, lifted by citrusy acidity typical of the heavy limestone character of the soil. Made with 20% whole clusters and aged in 20% new oak barriques. The name of the Wine derives in part from an old monastery near the vineyard and from Albert Mann’s wife, named Claire. 13% alcohol.

Domaine Albert Mann
Pinot Noir Cuvee Grand P 2017
Domaine Albert Mann
Bright dark ruby-red. Deep nose of blueberry nectar, blackberry and strawberry, complicated by violet and a hint of herbs. Bright and juicy with sneaky density to the blue and red fruit flavors. Finishes suave and floral, revealing lingering hints of pepper. This is always the most floral of Mann’s Pinot Noir Wines. These southeast-facing vines are 35 years old and grow in the Pfersigstberg Grand Cru; the Wine is made by using about 15% whole clusters and is aged in 25% new oak (the rest is once-used barrels only). 13% alcohol.
