Domaine Ponsot
Clos de La Roche Vieilles Vignes 2015
Domaine Ponsot
An overtly floral-suffused nose, and in particular violet and lilac, adds a touch of elegance to the liqueur-like red cherry, plum and dark currant scents. The exceptionally rich and full-bodied flavors possess an outstanding level of dry extract that imparts a highly seductive texture to the mid-palate, indeed it's even caressing, yet the intensity and power really mount as this moves toward the almost painfully intense and explosive finale.

Domaine du Clos de Tart
Clos de Tart 2011
Domaine du Clos de Tart
A very fresh, restrained and attractively ripe nose of spiced plum, earth, violets and rose petal. There is excellent richness and volume to the gorgeously textured, concentrated and mouth coating medium weight plus flavors that display outstanding intensity on the very firm, persistent and beautifully well-balanced finish that displays a touch of youthful asperity.

Domaine du Clos de Tart
Clos de Tart 2013
Domaine du Clos de Tart
As usual, I tasted Clos de Tart in its separate fermentations and then in an approximate blend. The late harvest produced a dark, brooding Clos de Tart endowed with fabulous depth. Dark and deeply spiced to the core, the 2013 is incredibly vivid in the glass, with gorgeous interplay between the old-vine fruit and aromatic nuances from the whole clusters.

Vibrant, ripe blackberry plus delicate notes of rose, a gorgeously silky texture and sweet-spice finish. I tasted the seven parcels that make up this final Wine and it is clear that there's a sensational synergy in the blending.

MOMMESSIN
Clos De Tart, Grand Cru “Monopole” 2011
MOMMESSIN
wonderful, refined, beguilingly pure bouquet of fresh strawberry, black plum and dried rose petals that is more floral than fruit-driven. The palate is nicely structured: open and inviting, the tannins slightly grainy with a finish that is unusually light on its feet and fanning out with crisp strawberry, tart red cherry cherries and a pinch of white pepper for good measure.

This is so deeply colored that it's opaque. The expressive and strikingly complex nose features broad-ranging notes of cassis, plum, sandalwood, spice, earth of the sauvage. There is superb richness to the voluminous, powerful and punchy flavors that display plenty of muscle on the youthfully austere finish.

A notably spicy, fresh, cool and floral nose displays mostly red berry fruit scents that are trimmed in discreet wood notes. There is excellent cut and definition to the nicely rich and attractively textured flavors that culminate in a presently austere finale though I doubt that austerity will persist.

Aromatic, offering hints of lavender, menthol and orange peel, but on the palate this becomes an immutable block, with a kernel of cherry, black currant, licorice and mineral flavors locked within. The tannins have the upper hand now, but this should develop well.
