Heavy & bold
Medium to deep garnet colored, the 2007 Proprietary Red Blend Amuse Bouche, a blend of 94% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc, features a very earthy/savory nose of smoked meats, yeast extract, violets and chocolate box with a core of preserved plums, blueberry compote and cigar box. Full-bodied, rich and spicy with wonderful freshness, it sports beautifully plush tannins in the mouth, paving the very long and wonderfully decadent finish.

Camenere - the near-extint variety and icon of Chilean wine is flawlessly expressed here in the Montes, Alpha Carmenère. The wine is full-bodied, with silk-smooth tannins and characteristic Camenere fruitiness and spice. 2016 is a great vintage, allowing the prized the wine is the Colchagua terroir to perform at its best. This archetypical Camenere is Chile wines at its best, one of the best in this price range. A must try.
REGION :Colchagua Valley, Chile
GRAPE : Carmenere
Red and black currants, violets, lilacs and spice box plus chocolate-covered coffee beans, menthol, tilled soil and cardamom. The palate is full-bodied, concentrated and built like a brick house, with loads of floral sparks and a very long, mineral-laced finish.
GRAPE : Cabernet Sauvignon
Without causing offense, it does not smell like a rosé, but more like a very pretty young Beaune Premier Cru. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, quite rich in texture with Morello cherry, hints of dried blood and a lovely piquant finish. Delicious. Such is its depth, it feels like a red, whatever hue…it's just wondrous!

Ben and Alma Schild first moved to the Barossa Valley from Lameroo in the Murray Mallee in 1952. The first vineyard that the family purchased is located up the top of Steingarten Road, near Rowland Flat, where the original homestead is still situated. The wines are typical of the Barossa Valley - warm, generous and rich.
