A discreet application of wood doesn’t detract from the intensely floral red berry fruit and earth-inflected aromas. There is really lovely richness and volume to the caressing medium-bodied flavors that coat the palate with dry extract on the balanced, complex and wonderfully persistent finale. This is much more civilized at present than its Mazoyères counterpart and should be approachable after “only” a decade or so of bottle age.
