CHÂTEAU LEOVILLE POYFERRE
St. Julien 2017
75CL
The 2017 Léoville Poyferré has a very well defined bouquet with irresistible cranberry and crushed strawberry aromas, a lighter and more refined take on Poyferré with more mineralité than many recent vintages. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly grainy tannin, a fine line of acidity, more black fruit than red intermixed with tar, smoke and cracked black pepper.

CHÂTEAU LEOVILLE POYFERRE
Château Léoville Poyferré is another of Wineman's favorite and is among the four essential Sant-Julien producers, along with Château Ducru-Beaucaillou and the other 2 Leovilles (Château Léoville Barton and Château Léoville Las Cases. Château). Léoville Poyferré's wines is historically known as the softer of the three Leoville wines. Driven by wine consumer trends of the past decades, however, the estate has developed heavier weight and boldness. The estate was granted second growth in the 1855 classification, but in terms of price point, Léoville Poyferré is among the more accessible wines, as compared to its classified growth peers.
