Chateau Pontet Canet
Pauillac 2014
Chateau Pontet Canet
A stunning Wine for this vintage although it’s still a bit shy on the nose (more spice than fruit showing than now). There’s wet earth, too, but on the palate it’s bursting with ripe yet subtle flavors. Very long and complex finish that goes on and on.

A small estate belonging to the owners of classed growth Croizet Bages, this Wine is rich, densely textured and has good potential. It is young: both the tannins and the slight barnyard character testify to that. When it matures, it will be full and concentrated. Drink from 2022.

Chateau Rouge Grand Puy Lacoste
Pauillac 2016
Chateau Rouge Grand Puy Lacoste
A neoclassical edition of Grand-Puy-Lacoste, this has cedar, graphite, deeply integrated cedar and spicy-oak influence and a very fresh array of ripe blackberries, dark cherries and cassis. The palate is so seamless. It builds beautifully and delivers a long, seamless array of perfectly ripe dark fruit, swathed in fine, firm, ascending layers of tannins. As good as we have seen in recent vintages, this is a star of the vintage.
