ANTICA TERRA
“Angelicall” Rosé 2015
75CL
Without causing offense, it does not smell like a rosé, but more like a very pretty young Beaune Premier Cru. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, quite rich in texture with Morello cherry, hints of dried blood and a lovely piquant finish. Delicious. Such is its depth, it feels like a red, whatever hue…it’s just wondrous!

This is one that is great on its own and with food. A hug for your mouth. Nose is raisins and a slight green pepper. Drinking it had a n earthy quality that’s like eating the ripest beat. Sweet but still rooted. Ripen strawberries are also on the palette.

Pleasant rounded full body Primitivo (3.8) with medium tannins in garnet colour. Wonderful combination of black currant, black cherry and prune notes on nose, black cherry complemented by strong burnt caramel and hints of coffee on palate. Delicious stuff for repeating again and again

ANTICA TERRA
Antica Terra is a 5-hectare (11-acre) estate situated on the steep, rocky soils of the Eola-Amity Hills AVA in Oregon. Its portfolio is based on Pinot Noir, although Chardonnay and Roussanne feature too. Due to the terroir, the vines are in a constant state of stuggle, and are particularly small considering their age. The thick-skinned grapes, too, are small in size – roughly half that of a normal grape – and only a few tiny clusters are present on each vine. These low-yielding vines lead to intensely concentrated and complex wines.
